Blackbird

If it’s possible to stalk a store, I admit upfront that I stalk PurpleMoon Creations.  The brand carries so very many gorgeous items that I just can’t help but do a few gazillion writeups about them.  And why should this month be any different?  It shouldn’t, particularly when you take a gander at PurpleMoon founder Poulet Koenkamp’s spirited Halloween Special called “La Morte Douce.” I show this evocative black gown with an equally wonderful item, another Halloween Special from PurpleMoon called “Creatura Headpiece.”   Take a look.  Isn’t the entire effect beautiful and otherworldly?

Sometimes rummaging through your closet is an adventure that pays off richly.  I happened across this amazing set of prototype wings from the old Sevens Selections-now Vaengi that creator Jen Shikami so very generously shared with me several years ago…just because she is incredibly nice and incredibly talented both.  When I put these wings on with the gown, the entire ensemble popped.  The items all work so incredibly perfectly together.  But even without these grand wings (if I’m not mistaken they aren’t available but check out Vaengi to be sure), La Morte Douce is a stunning bit of high fashion all on its own…from the deliciously feathered skirt all the way up to the opulence of the feathered neckline.

Here’s a closer view of the multitude of feathers that cascade around the face:

And because I’m posting this on my lunch hour, I have to wrap this entry up far more abruptly than I like.  The items really are so gorgeous I think they do speak very beautifully for themselves.  So, do take flight to PurpleMoon, purchase this gown and headdress and get in the spirit of this Halloween season in perhaps the most fabulously glamorous of ways.

Swing Time

I’ve had these items for a while — more than a week — and finally swung my way around to this writeup.  Two wonderful venues/shops are involved in this entry:  Collabor88 and PurpleMoon Creations.

At Collabor88, be sure to flounce over to this utterly sexy hair from [e] called “Thrive.”  It’s a long drink of hotness for those days when you want to emulate the elegant smolder of Veronica Lake or the modern day gorgeousness of Jennifer Lopez.

Lead into your accessories with Maxi Gossamer’s adorable, playful Owl necklace (also at Collabor88)…a beautifully detailed piece that comes fully loaded with color changing gem options.  Not only that, but in a single purchase, you receive gold and silver tones as well as short, medium, and long lengths for each tone.  Hoot to that!

To complete the look, slip into this gorgeous swirl of a dress from PurpleMoon Creations.  It’s called “Chok” and it’s loaded with femininity.  The skirt has a bit of a perpetual lift in the back, creating a gorgeous feeling of always being In The Dance.  Such a wonderful place to be, indeed.  Follow the slurls below to get in the swing of these pretty things!

Daydream

I am fortunate in many ways, including having friends who are incredibly talented creators and who share review items.  I am especially thankful that they are patient with me…as oftentimes I’m not able to showcase their items until months later.  But even months later, their creations look as amazing as they first did.

That’s certainly true of the work produced by Eclectica creator Tiffy Vella, jewelry designer extraordinaire.  Tiffy is also a long-time friend from way back in the days of Shenlei Flasheart’s Shengri La Vintage Marketplace…that’s 3-4 years running now!  Even after all this time, she graciously continues to share her creations with me.  Each time she does, I’m delighted and honored to feature her work.  Her design sensibilities and craftsmanship rock.

Take a look.  Here are two of the latest in a series of items Tiffy shared:  “Cluster” jewellery ensemble (necklace, earrings, ring), and; the gorgeously gem-encrusted “50’s” eyeglasses.

If the devil is in the details, Tiffy is not afraid to go to the smallest level of detail and deliver the most heavenly of creations.  “Cluster” is an incredibly versatile wardrober, jammed packed with a burgeoning array of gemstones that is loaded for bare.  And what’s more the entire ensemble is loaded with a burst of color-changing options.  Click on the earrings, necklace, or ring and change the colors of the gems, the metal, and the necklace ribbon to suit your fancy.  For this post, I chose to match the gemstones and metals throughout each piece (although I could have made the colors different in each of the pieces).  I made the gemstones a combination of pale green and light purple, the metal black, and the necklace ribbon white to match this great little dress from Azul.  This is a jewelry wardrober that fascinates.  The more I play with the options in “Cluster” and examine the full dimensions of the gems in particular, the more I appreciate how really superb Tiffy’s work is.

That type of reaction also occurs with Tiffy’s “50’s” glasses, which she’s updated with even more color and texture options.  Not only can you change the tint, opacity, and texture of the lens, but you can also change the color and textures of the metal scrollwork and the pearls.

In this case, I changed the color of the Clusters necklace to black and the metal to silver in order to compliment the frame of the “50’s” glasses.  And I changed the scrollwork and pearls in the glasses to greens and purples to echo the hues in the jewelery ensemble.  It all works so beautifully together and provides a lovely finishing touch to a gorgeous gown that is the latest group gift from PurpleMoon.

These creations truly are quite dreamy.  If you want to make them a reality — and who wouldn’t — catch a slurl-flight-of-fancy below and bring these beautiful creations into your life.

Gown:  “Ninde” in blue by Poulet Koenkamp, creator of PurpleMoon.  This colorway of “Ninde” is Poulet’s 14000 member group gift and is yours after paying 50L to join the PurpleMoon group if you aren’t already a group member.  Poulet gives great gifts…that 50L entrance fee is so very well worth it.

Deco

One can never have too many items from Eclectica Jewellery & Accoutrements.   A couple of weeks ago, uber talented designer and Eclectica creator Tiffy Vella dropped her latest release to me:   the “Deco” ensemble (earrings, necklace, bracelet, and belt).    If the atomic world hadn’t been just a bit hectic of late (with that stabilizing soon), I would have showcased “Deco” immediately.

“Deco” brims over with gorgeousness and a clearly amazing level of intricacy as do all of Tiffy’s creations.   This is a very patient artist, Tiffy is, who somehow delights in the minuteness of design, understanding so thoroughly how each piece in the tiniest detail works within the entire structure to create a most expressive and complete vision that requires no words to appreciate its beauty.  Through various atomic life firsthand experience, I’ve seen that usually people tend to be stronger at vision or tactics, but very very rarely is there a soul who can envision something and execute it exceedingly well from the tiniest of details to the whole.   When it comes to the world of amazing impossibly intricate jewellery that people immediately love, Tiffy delivers time and time again.  Her vision for each piece and ensemble is really so beautiful.  And her ability to bring it to form consistently each time is just amazing.  Truly, fans of her work, like I am, are so very very happy that she’s able to do both.

And you will be too…here’s the slurl again where you can see Tiffy’s work firsthand if you haven’t already (and if you haven’t, you really should):  Eclectica Jewellery & Accoutrements.

Help Japan

Help Japan is another wonderful fundraiser that I just made my way to the other night.  There, 100% of the purchase price for *every* lovely item at the exhibit goes to the Japanese Red Cross.  How beautiful is that…the help, the community, the spirit with the added bonus of gorgeous creations.

I lucked into a wonderful look, created by wearing three separate purchases.  The combination of the skin, hair, and Cherry Blossom outfit together is fascinatingly ethereal.  I do feel like poetry in motion with it all on.  You’ll find these creations at Help Japan, along with many, many more wonderful items.  Fashion details follow at the close of this entry.
