Turning the Tides

For the past several days, I’ve been logged pretty heavily into that place called Real Life.  It’s a pretty chaotic place that doesn’t have much in the way of helpful pointers for navigating this thing called Life.  It comes with a wonky user interface that sometimes works beautifully and other times fails miserably. There seems to be an awful lot of interference in communication.  There’s lag for miles all over on these places called highways and in these other places called offices.  And as far as I can tell, we can’t fly here although we are allowed to *believe* that we can fly.  I’m fairly sure Google runs the Real Life platform.  Google or Facebook…so we’ll see how long it lasts.  Many expect it will go belly up at the stroke of midnight on December 20 2012…no doubt because it didn’t scale.

Before that happens though, I’m resuming my entries on some of the beautiful sims that were built for the Fantasy Faire.  The slideshow below features The Tides, which was easily one of my favorite sims to visit.  Not only because of the magnificent build but just as much because of the otherworldly feeling it evoked.  (Along with the impromptu rooftop party on the last day of the Faire.)  You see, there be Giants in dem dere Tides.  A giant avatar named Colosus as a matter of fact.  Right when you tp’d in, there she was gazing from high above at everyone down below at the landing point.  (In the slideshow I hover over her left shoulder.)  Makes you feel like a newborn all over…and you find yourself staring in joyful wonder yet again at this wildly wonderful imaginative world of ours.

To get an even better feeling for Colosus’s scale, check out this great video called “Colosus at The Tides,” filmed by Deception Digital.
