Eclectica and LeLutka

I just want to say for the record that I’m still bumping into writer’s block from last year’s nanowrimo and that I am not wild about the new WordPress layout.  It takes forever for me to find the button on the dashboard that allows me to either add a new post or edit one.  But then again maybe that’s just my writer’s block coming up with some handy reasons for sitting down on the job.

Speaking of which, friend Tiffy Vella, creator of Eclectica Jewellery & Accoutrements dropped this wonderful jewelry set to me a while ago.  I’m finally getting around to posting it now (my apologies, Tiffy, for the long delay!)   Her creation is a wonderful icy-hot jewelry ensemble called “Manhattan” that comes complete with earrings.  I wear it in the quartzite colorway, along with this smoldering hot new hair “Brigitte” from LeLutka.  This bombshell-licious hair rawks, as do all of the new LeLutka hairstyles.  I snapped up just about all of them.  But who wouldn’t.     Pairing the raucous voluptuousness of LeLutka’s latest offering with the icy hot elegance from Eclectica would compel anyone to take “Manhattan” and “Brigitte” both.  Faster than a New York second.

The Hotness:

Collabor88

I have 10,000 more words to write to complete last year’s nanowrimo…yes, last year’s.  Can you see why I have yet to earn the official nanowrimo badge?  I have yet to write 50,000 in 30 days.  I’m amazed by those who do, especially by my very very wonderful friend who has written 50,000+ words in 30 days several years in a row.  I’ve completed it in 45 days, 60 days, and now this year, I’ll be completing it in a year.  Lots has been going on this year that pushed my writing back…including the structure I thought up for it this time around.  Writing a new, complete story in each chapter is not easy; at least for me it’s not.  Which leads me to this post.  One of the things I do when I have writer’s block is look into fashion event notices.

A few days ago, I received a notice about Collabor88, a cozy venue where a variety of designers offer items — priced at a mere 88L — specifically for this event.  I picked up several wonderful creations there, including these lovelies:  a beautiful skin called “Paige” from Illusory (at 88L for each skin tone, I purchased all five skintones); a fun knit dress from Fashionably Dead (neon undergarment not included); sleek and wonderful hair from Clawtooth, with a menu to change the color of the bow (each color pack comes with five different variations of the color for 88L!); and, ever-wonderful jewelry — this time in the form of a bracelet — from Earthstones.

Check out Collabor88 for these great items and more.  Collabor88 is a monthly event, so if you’re interested in the current selection, head over there in the next few days.  Check out Illusory’s earlier post on Collabor88, complete with a list of participating designers.  And then head back again in October to check out the new collection.  I know I will!

Every little thing

Yoona Mayo, creator of Cocoon Jewelry, is a huge talent when it comes to working with the tiniest of prims, each of which she brings together to create jewelry pieces of astounding stature.   I’ve known Yoona for more than three years.  Over that time, her ability to fashion every little prim into a spectacular ensemble never ceases to amaze.  Her latest creation — “Peacock,” in white gold — demonstrates her massive talent with aplomb.  Consider the prim count in each piece:  153 prims in one earring; 250 prims in the bracelet; 251 prims in the necklace!   Each prim and the entirety of the ensemble are all utterly gorgeous.  I pair the set with a lush black gown from Poulet Koenkamp, creator of Purple Moon, and a delicious hat from the ever amazing Donna Flora collection, the entirety of which I just adore.

In the midst of these seasoned designers, Yoona’s creations hold up beautifully…and in color combinations and price points you just won’t believe for this incredible level of detail and quality.  When you purchase Cocoon jewelry and wear it, do appreciate its beauty.  But also take a moment to examine the prim count in each piece.  Zoom in close to see the extraordinary level of design and dimension in every element Yoona creates.  You’ll come away with an even deeper appreciation for her talent.  Like me, you’ll soon realize that every little jewelry thing Yoona does with the prim — by itself and when brought all together into the whole — is truly magic, indeed.

Black Swan

While at the Fashionably Late venue, this wonderful face makeup caught my eye.  I snatched it up and found myself wanting to create a look that was as equally exotic, mysterious, and magical.  And I also found myself wondering what my friend Misteria Loon has been up to with her designs, so I headed over to her shop Pas De Deux.  There, I picked up this lovely Black Swan inspired ballerina dress.  Misty has created quite an extensive line of ethereal fashion that floats so beautifully along the fantasy spectrum.  I always feel compelled to find a lush garden or forest whenever I wear Misty’s creations.  Or I find myself wanting to take to the sea or to the heavens.  In each of her lovely creations, Misty creates a mood and a story, both of which immediately transport you to a world of beautiful imagination.  Head on over to Pas De Deux, where you will find this wondrous little outfit and many other gorgeous bits of fashion magic.
